I'm planning on meeting up with a couple of other gun folks that I chat with online to bust some clays at the Wolf Creek public shotgun range [Edited to add- Also known as the Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds] off of Merck Road near Camp Creek Parkway in Atlanta on the afternoon of Sunday, October 19.

Do any of youse guys wanna come out?
This is not a competition and I don't even own the right kind of over/under shotgun for these games. I've got one pump action and one semi auto and all I wanna do is bust more than half of the targets presented.

Bring whatever ya got!
But, the range does have a full pro shop and rental guns available.

I believe you are talking about the Tom Lowe shooting range. I have always wanted to go do some shooting there but never had the opportunity, life was always in the way lol. Went by there a little over a year ago and It looked like they had redone their shooting platforms for standing and really got that itch after that. I would love to come out and have some fun with you guys, but I’m in the same boat as you I don’t really have the tools for it but some that can get the job done if I do my do part and aim correctly. But I won’t lie either there will probably be more missed targets than hit.

I love that place. Been hundreds of times. It’s where they held the Olympic shooting sports during the 1996 Olympics. It’s a really nice facility

Dchance: thanks for reminding me that the official new name of this place is the Tom Lowe shooting grounds.

Alexs2006: because skeet or 5- stand is a game you can play with cylinder bore or improved cylinder barrels, this is a good chance for people to bring out their home defense shotguns with 18" or 20" barrels and get some trigger time on them,

while shouldering the gun quickly and practicing aiming / pointing at a moving target.

And WITHOUT the punishing recoil of shooting slugs or 00 buckshot, which are the only loads allowed at most indoor ranges where you can use a shotgun at all.

(Here at this range you are limited to shells that only have very small bird shot:
number 7.5 , # 8 or number 9.)

Anybody from ODT planning on going? The weather looks like it will rain in the morning then it should dry up and get cool and clear by the afternoon.
So I will throw at least one shotgun and two boxes of shells in the car and plan on going after lunch (& after church).

I'm open. What works for you?
Weather looks good all afternoon and early evening.
