I tried the trigger on a Sig229 that was supposed to have the SRT trigger.
It had a short reset, but there was a lot of lateral wobble to the trigger.
I didn't like it.
I also thought it needed an over travel screw.

Is this the usual for this pistol, or did I handle a dud?

There should be minimal lateral movement. The SRT is a great trigger pull, IMO much better than the DAK or DAO. You may have handled a dud but SIG's customer service is very good and should take care of it no questions asked as long as you dont go digging around in there yourself.

It was at a gunshop. In the new cabinet. Had the standard size beavertail, not the elite. Had the new grips. Price was $820. I guess I'll look around a bit more before I buy. I do like the feel of the gun. It didn't have night sights. They said factory ns would be an extra C-note. From what I've seen so far, I think it just might be a little steep. What do you guys think?
