Sig Mosquito Question

I appreciate all the responses. Just so you know, this isn't a beginner pistol, he already has 3 including a 1911. I just wanted to get him a cheap plinker to shoot.

In that case get him a bull barrel Ruger/Buckmark or the target Mosquito. Would feel like a bigger gun and all three of these are very accurate.

Hit or miss on reliability. Good ones are good.....bad ones suck and they ain't fun.

Terrible triggers, even in the good ones.

Just to throw an option out, look at the Ruger 22/45 Lite.

The mosquito sucks. Get the mp22 or sr22.

Taught my granddaughter how to shoot with a SIG Mosquito. Then she graduated to rifles. 500 rounds through it without any issues. But, I do use the manufacturers recommended CCI ammo only so far. I should probably try some of the cheaper stuff in it now though.

I had one, jammed when it was dirty and finicky on ammo, otherwise it was a neat little gun.

Use CCI roundnose ammo and you should have good luck with it. Easy and smooth slide IMO...

The Buckmark will cycle anything you put through it. Clean, dirty, wet, or dry, the Buckmark is the best for accuracy and reliability.
