Stoddard's in Midtown had a SilencerCo rep on site today for a demo day today at lunchtime, so I was able to put 50rds through one and it shoots nice. Sound was good. We were shooting 115gr supersonic ammo and the rep said its around 136dB as compared to about 132dB on a 9mm with can. Shoots nice too. Its a light pistol and you can really drive it with the reduced muzzle flip.

Decisions, decisions, I don't know which will be the tougher sale to the wife a Maxim or another M1A. 136dB would put it around 45 acp sound levels, so not bad.

How do they sound compared to other suppressed 9mm with a can?

To the ear it sounds about the same, maybe a little better than a traditional pistol and can combo. What you are really saving is size and weight. It is considerably shorter and lighter than the traditional setup.
