Single man traveling abroad

Vietnam - Sounds like you already have a guide to sort that out. If you're in the South, there's sort of a national park that was the VC headquarters. That was interesting. Saigon is crazy congested. I liked Hue. Hanoi is better to visit than Saigon in my opinion. You can see Ho Chi Minh's corpse if that tickles your fancy. I toured the Hanoi Hilton and the guide explained American POWs were very lucky to be there because they were so well-treated; try not to roll your eyes. French colonial buildings are neat. Halong Bay is on everyone's list, very cool.

Thailand - The first time and I was there was drastically different from the last time. Place I saw virtually zero foreigners were covered with crowds of tourists. If you stay in Bangkok, get a hotel located in walking distance to the sky train. Go to a market or two. They're pretty crazy. It's an international city so it's more expensive and they have just about everything. If you go to the movies, be prepared to stand up for the national anthem. Chiang Mai is up north and less crazy - temples, elephant park, night market. Sukhothai is in between. Cool ruins like you would see in Cambodia. Cheaper and less crazy then Bangkok. I've never been down south.

Tokyo - You could spend a week there. Going up to the top of Tokyo Tower at night is pretty cool. The Seiko flagship store is worth a visit if you like watches. In the basement of many major department stores you can find all kinds of amazing food, might find a bar too. Lots of day trips to take from there. Take the bullet train and see Mount Fuji maybe.

Australia - I've only been to Sydney. Lots of stuff to see there, but they have these Victorian laws so everything closes early. Expensive.

If you have a long stretch of time in the East, I would pick a base and get a round trip ticket to wherever. I used to use Singapore. From there, you can get cheaper flights everywhere you want to go.
Thank you for that break down! Yeah, I made a few contacts in Thailand. Seems like some very good people they might content in Thailand. Australia, I have a buddy who will take care of me. I’m not worried at all.
Vietnam my buddy and I will travel and see it all. I love war history and that was a goal of mine to see their museums and monuments.

The best time to travel to Italy are early spring in Rome or on any of the coastal vacation spots in August. The island of Mallorca off the coast of Spain is a single wealthy man’s playground. Same with the Greek Islands specifically Rhodes. Be ready to see the most beautiful women you have ever seen. Much better than the dyed hair tattooed fat pigs in America. Wrap that shiiiidddd.
Yeah bro, I’m not too worried about women. I mainly wanna see different cultures and history. Rhodes is on the list.

Embrace your inner foodie nerd and go hard in Europe. Drink Uzo till the bar closes and hit a street vendor for a real gyro. Go to Crete. Damn I miss those days.

I have no timeline bro. I plan to stay in Mexico for 2-3 weeks maybe more. Dominican Republic I can stay there for a week or two as long as my buddy can stay Thailand I made contacts so I can stay a month or so.
Australia my buddy Wade has a place for me to live so as long as I want.
For guys I know wanting to going to Thailand by themselves, I always ask if they're interested in diving. Because you can get all kind of certs at a reasonable price. It gives people some sort of easy-to-follow schedule and you'll meet people diving. For example, they spend 10 days doing diving courses and then spend 10 days just traveling around. If you have an interest in a lot of Latin America, you could have the same sort of loose structure by signing up for language classes. In the right location, you could take language classes and diving classes. It's a good route for flying solo.

That is a really good recommendation. I did not think about that. I actually never gave a thought about diving, but that sounds really interesting! I actually swim pretty well that actually might be my alley.
