This is sound advise. I've been burned twice buying handguns hot off the press (a Ruger LC9s Pro that would drop mags on the last shot, and a Glock 42 that was plagued by issues).

I've got my eye on a Shield .45, looks like I'll be waiting a few months until they work the kinks out.

You didn't hear? That was the "Quick Reload Option" on that LC9s...

Never had a single malfunction with mine....

Me neither but the XDs, for me, is much better built

LOL! It was the craziest thing! I kept thinking that surely I was doing something wrong, but a quick Google search confirmed it was a known issue.

To their credit, Ruger made it right very quickly. Their customer service is excellent.

Owned both shields and xds, prefer the shield personally, but no issue with the xds

Guess I'll wait a few months for my 45 shield

Don't wait to call them. Get on their Web site and chat with the support rep. They will open a case and get everything in motion.
