my son bought one of these new and it jams about 2 times every mag is this normal for these

I have 2 of the M&P 22 Compacts and have never had an issue out of them. I'm not an ammo purist either. I'll shoot whatever I can find.

Tried different mags? Tried different ammo? Did he thoroughly clean and lube it first?

Have not had issue with mine. Used Remington golden bullets

You can limp wrist a polymer 22 too. My M&P 22 Compact runs flawlessly.

My wife’s Glock 44 will stove pipe or not cycle in some way every other round with standard velocity .22lr rounds of any kind. If you put in a high velocity round, regardless of brand...ZERO issues
