So much complaining about "Noobs" and in general

I think we just have a sort of perfect storm going right now, and especially in the last month or so. Gun classifieds site--> Gun scare--> Higher prices--> Influx of new members--> New members sell at the higher prices--> Old members ***** about it

I think it'll chill if the gun situation in the country calms down.

i was thinking the same thing.
Over the weekend the overall atmosphere of the sight was pretty stormy. It took almost nothing to get tempers flaring. When meeting in person with members, however, I found the same good natured hood humored guys I have come to expect in this community. I guess when you take a bunch of gun people and restrict their access to guns and ammo.... We get a bit grumpy.

Since officially joining last month I've been corrected repeatedly by people half my age, had my life threatened once and Istill got the text saved in my phone on that one, I been cursed at and told by more than 1 old member my price was too high and THEY dont like it.To many people in here feel they have the right to get in other peoples business and let them know about the "WE" group in here, WE don't like noobs, we want pics posted the first time, we don't like your. I've noticed its the same group of people doing most of the complaining and stareting arguments over and over. I can understand people feeling like they belong because they been here longer but theres a group of them in here that act like theyre better than the rest of us.

Those "old members" that you are referring to that threatened you are not really old members, those are the guys that joined after the first anniversary big give away, they tend to seem to know everything and are not afraid to let you know. The real old members have mostly gone silent. We are still around and we're still trading just as much, it's just that we have decided not to participate in threads that are clearly a waste of time. Klarktx is absolutely correct, there are many of us that do not condone such lewd behavior or the rants that keeps going on and on.

If you have been threatened, you should notify OS immediately and let him know. Nobody needs to put up with that.

I'm pretty sure/positive you won't find anyone that was here in the early months of ODT feeling that way, heck we were glad when members started joining (due mainly to OS traveling the states gunshows passing out flyers) and members passing the word around about this new site. I will say I've seen alot of the early members disappear and sometimes wonder if its the tone the site is taking on or just the natural weeding out of gun enthusist (after 40+ years of handling/trading all type firearms I've pretty much seen it all and been involved in it all too). Thick Skin is a must !!
