Sobriety…..

I'll have a few drinks a year.
But I don't think I had any alcohol on New Year's Day just after midnight.
I did have an ounce of wine at home, one day, when I was watching a church service on TV and they did the Holy Communion / Lord's Supper. Since I was home, I used a full-sized cracker with a slice of cheese on it and an airplane-sized tiny bottle of red wine. None of this "three drops of grape juice and a wafer the size of dandruff flakes" baloney.
Usually I have a beer with brats or other grilled items at a 4th of July picnic, but this year just drank Diet Snapple-- that's all I was in the mood for.
Likely that sometime this fall I'll go to a sports pub and order chicken wings and wash them down with a beer.
And then a few months later I'll have some fancy mixed drink on my birthday.
In late December, I'll have real egg nogg made with rum.
That's it. A couple servings of alcohol per year.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm kidding of course. I seldom drink much of anything other than the occasional glass of wine.
All the meds I have to take to keep living don't interact well with alcohol.
True story...I was talking to my doctor and I told him I don't really drink much and his response was "Well maybe you should".

I haven’t touched or drank any alcohol since 1997. The year I married my high school sweetheart after 5 years of dating and I year of engagement. It was purely by choice. We have alcoholics on both sides of the family. It is not fun to watch them ruin their lives and try to wreck their own families.

Congratulations to you!
