Item Name: SA Garand Nice Shooter
Location: Near Ringgold
Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: 775.00
Willing to Ship: No
Bill of Sale Required?: No
Item Description: Hey y'all. I really hate to do this but started a new business and cash is tight. Putting my SA garand on the block. Receiver dates to December 1943. This was a Blue Sky import that Hook Boutin rebarreled with an excellent (MW1.6) Danish VAR barrel. He checked it out and gave it a thumbs up, along with performing a couple other little accuracy tricks on it. Bolt, trigger housing, and hammer are all SA. It has a SA NM op rod and NM front sight. Finish is in very good shape overall. Stock is mostly good but the wood has compressed... I used a little 2-part epoxy putty to beef it up under the trigger group... Not necessarily permanent but holds up pretty well... you could chisel this out and do a real bedding job if you wanted, but there is NO movement of the reciever as it is now. Shoots fine as is but you will need to re-stock it if you want to shoot garand matches with it. Or do a good bedding job and you will have a real sleeper. I thought about replacing it myself a few times but the stock is a really neat butterscotch blonde color that feels fantastic and just suits the rifle so nicely.
Also included is a like new Danish Garand bayonet and 120 rounds of HXP 63 ball ammo. Some of this is tarnished, but it all shoots good. Here's a link to a discussion about the ammo... http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=45220
Also a google search for HXP corrosion will give you more info about this.
Overall an outstanding shooter that I really hate to let go.
Call or text me at 478 seven three seven 4422 for more pics or info.
Thanks,
Charles
