Transfers are just them doing the 4473 and handing you the item you ordered elsewhere. Depends on the dealer, some are free, some charge $10 - $25... Cherokee Gun and Pawn in Canton is free.

If you buy instock items from a local dealer - no transfer fee - you are buying it from them.

Funny you mention that. We had a local dealer advertising stripper Anderson lowers for $49. When you got there they charged you the $49 plus a $25 transfer fee on an in stock item. They are no longer in business and the owner is facing federal charges from the BATFE.

Went by yesterday afternoon and they were closed. Called and no answer.

Must have been early or late, I did a deal with them yesterday for two Spikes lowers around 3:30pm. They ususally close up around 4:30 or 5:00 on Friday to get ready for the shows.
