Ah, it ain't so bad in person...
I’d hate to know I got clapped by a rifle with two D’s on it.
My hunting AR has a Spikes Punisher lower on it. I still have a few of their lowers.
Total bonus on buying a spikes lower is nail polish in the dicks. I embrace the gay and use nude nail polish.
Anyone that sees peckers without it being pointed out to them are closet homos.... 
It's funny that so many people think that. The owner's claim of their forging supplier gouging them is pretty much true. When they were forced pay double to resupply the sold out lowers, they had to pass on the cost.
It's interesting that I was able to buy a complete lower from them that were still in stock during that same time from them for only $50.00 more than their stripped lowers. Their "****" that I purchased, as you refer to was a MEGA Gator lower roll-marked Spike's. Still have it too.
Some ignorant folks need to STFU about things they know nothing about....
You misinterpreted and I’ll take the blame. By “****,” I simply meant stuff. Wasn’t referring to their products as subpar since I have zero experience with Spikes. As far as why their prices went up? No idea, just remember it happening. Your story sounds legit though. I don’t know what a “mega gator” is (sounds gay) but you seem proud of it so good for you. No need for the butthurtedness and telling folks to STFU.
Back before there were 1k different brands offering lowers, they were one of the few that seemed to embrace selling stripped lowers, different roll marks and just being a bit different than others. I always remember (and still look for) they bothered to make a 22lr barrel and system for the LMT MRP. I stopped by their location in FL on time when I was on a work trip and driving through (they are north of Orlando) and recognized the town so googled them and I was like 2 blocks away. Pretty cool place with a few nice rifles on display but not really a retail location, but the folks there seemed friendly enough.
I met/talked to Spike (I assume that's his name, but the owner) at SHOT show one year for a bit. Seemed like a very cool guy and I enjoyed our couple of minute conversation.
IMHO they were/are a step up from the usually poverty pony and probably on par or slightly above Aero but it's been a long time since I've looked at one.
