Springfirld armory model 1903 help!

I have ..in very nice condition.. a 1903. I am not familiar with these rifles at all. I was given this by a family member ..and just trying to research and learn some facts. 7 digit serial number. Circled P and #78 behind trigger guard. Star being rear sling attachment. H where bayonet would connect. BAWL stamped on stock. And N.S on the bolt. Any information on the proof markings and a value of my new addition would be greatly appreciated!
