This year is the most I've seen since we moved here. 3 nice oaks in the back yard dropping acorns by the ton. If My dogs would bring them to me without chewing them first, I'd never have to get off the back porch.

That's my problem with squirrels you skin em and they're nothing but tree rats. My Dad being a poor sharecropper when growing up loved eating those things. I need to try em one day for Dad's sake.

I could live off of the squirrel population in my yard. Took out dozens when they were messing with the cars and house, but it didn't have any impact on their numbers. As for my hunting camp, it's like a ghost town for squirrel.

Wouldn't squirrel be similar to rabbit starvation?

I would try it, but not many people i know have hunted or eaten them. I ate meatloaf often
