yeah. i noticed that most people arent offering that much of a discount off of nib prices for their used one. i assume its because its just a mental hurdle to let go of a firearm for less that 150 bucks

Well they ARE ****ing ugly as it gets no doubt. And I looked at them as well as the Jiminez JA9 as far as adding to my " Guns Found in Evidence Cages" collection for a while. The JA9 definitely looks better for about the same price. But after watching several YouTube reviews and asking opinions on here it became very obvious that the ugly ass Hi Point was the clear winner. If I had to pick a pistol and carbine combo to bury in PVC pipe I'd most likely go with 9mm Hi Points.
I have seen more than a few folks trying to get retail and higher for used ones. But it would be a good pick for what you're planning to do with it.
