Stay Cool

We are only cooling the upstairs 1500 sq ft. To me that's insanity. Our house in Cumming was cooling 2 levels and our bill with Sawnee rarely ever exceeded $200
I agree. I'm cooling a 2,900 SQ ft ranch but my outside conditions are worse. Lost track of how many triple digits days. This is right now. Note the inside temp. Thermostat is set on 74. Granted, this room stays hotter than the rest of the house.

And lol at the rain forecast. That's a big lie.

Have you checked the insulation in your attic? Blown insulation, by code, has to be minimum of 12" to be equivalent to R30.
Also walls insulation, are the inside of wall well insulated?
Windows, how old are they, and are they energy efficient?
Lastly, but not least, how old is/are your AC/ACs?

And to close the list: Are you cooking too many Tacos in the house? lol :becky::becky::becky::pound::pound::pound::pound:

NOTE: This post applies to you as well GeauxLSU GeauxLSU :becky:

The AC unit is definitely the culprit. Pretty sure it's as old as the house. Windows are newer. Not sure what we even have in the attic. Pretty standard pink insulation I believe. Walls are insulated. I only know this because we've been redoing the bathrooms and kitchen.

The slightest of activity outside and I literally don't have a stitch of dry clothing on me...seems to have gotten worse with age, too.

You can dress for cold. Can't dress for the heat.

Now, if we could just have long days in the winter that'd be nice...
You could do like me.. I’m nekkid as a jay bird right now.. on the front perch too
