My useless .02 worth.
My opinion is that I do NOT mind the bubba'ed Norinco SKS as it was never a true military weapon. The Norinco paratrooper is just a name to sell guns to the American public. Now, if the Mosin, Enfield, K98. 1903, 1917, P14 etc are bubba'ed then it hurts my soul. I do own bubba'ed milsurps but I did not cut them. Most were bought or traded for to try to get back close to original. The custom riflies I have built out of P14's, Swiss 96's, 98's are great guns but most were done back in the 50's when very few people collected milsurps. I have a P14 put into Birdseye Maple stock in 308 Norma Mag with the B&L scope that has the adjustments on the mount that is a piece of art from the 1950's and a Swiss 96 that was cut, bent and put into Turkish Walnut that is a showpiece, I much rather have both full military dress.

putting plastic on a mosin makes me feel weird, the classic look of wood stock is just the way it should be.
