how do you folks here drink your scotch, cognac, whiskey, etc?

i noticed that when my uncles visit they always add ice to their drink, and as a man who drinks his scotch or cognac straight with no ice or water it begs the question, why add ice?

so do you fellows drink your high alcohol by volume alcohol beverages with ice/water or straight

Depends. Knob Creek, on the rocks. Jim Beam neat. I was at the Jim Beam Distillery over Memorial Day Weekend and sampled a few of theirs. They make some damn fine bourbon!
