Add ThruNite to your research. Just purchased a handheld ThruNite TN-12 for $49.95 off Amazon Prime. 1000+ lumens! Has a 1" body, so easily mounted to a rifle. Takes either 2 CR123 batteries or a single rechargeable Li-Ion 18650. Just disassembled a notebook computer battery and harvested 6 good 18650s from it. Supposed to run around 90 min on the 800 lumen setting.
i got my 300 lumen tlr 1s a few weeks back on sale for 89 and i am super impressed they make a great product. might have to sell my insight for 40 bucks now lol
