I wouldn't usually write a post on this section but after what happened today kinda feel compelled. Three weeks ago i purchased a Thompson Center compass in 30-06 as a beater rifle in addition to my savage that i currently hunt with. It came to a total of $197.95, I took it to the field to sight it in and after zeroing the rifle i shot the group below at 100 yards. I was using cheap Remington core 150 gr soft points and was astounded with the accuracy of the rifle. I would HIGHLY recommend picking one up before the end of the year when the $75 rebate runs out, I'm grabbing another one in 6.5 creed to see how far i can stretch it out.

Ps: I do not have big hands my nail measures near on exactly .5 inches across.

TC makes good stuff. I've heard that the Compass models were pretty accurate, and I guess that tells the tale right there.

THATs a great post. Congrats on the new inexpensive rifle that groups like my Rem 700 heavy barrel varmint Special!

P.S. I like your all-natural weather resistant wind-proof rifle target.
I can’t find those for sale anywhere.
Did you have to pay a lot for shipping?
;)

Does the rebate take you down to $122? or does 197 include rebate?

Wow. I was looking at those when I got my Savage 12FV in .223. Thinking of picking up either one of those or the Thompson Compass in 308. Where did you pick yours up?
