Suggestions for shipping a non-serialed long gun

I need to ship a rifle out of state. This rifle is about 70 years old and does not have a serial number. I've read that it can be a hassle to ship these. Does anyone have any recommendations to simplify the process?

Anybody? This is not a filed off serial. The rifle was made before it was a requirement.

Nothing about the shipping process will be any different becuase the rifle does not have a factory issued serial number. As long as there are no signs or indications that a number or other marking has been removed then your good to go. Send it to the buyers FFL via FedEx or UPS direct from you or take it your FFL and have them do it for you.

I shipped muskets from Afghanistan after verifying and getting approval from BATF and getting the paperwork back w/ no problems. Try to go to a trusted gun store, or call one and ask! The worst they can tell you is to pound sand. Or look on the BATF website and see what they say!

Thanks for the responses. The other threads I had seen made it look like it would be more of an issue.
