A local mega church with a large parking lot and many members commonly hires "security" to handle traffic duties. Essentially they just stop teaffic to let church members exit the parking lot. Its not always a big deal, but it can be irritating to be stopped while 50 people are let out into traffic. Usually the security appears to be off duty law enforcement in orange vests - no uniforms.

So my question is - am I required to stop for anyone in this circumstance? The times that I have been first in line that I have been tempted to tap my horn and drive around the guy.

Get up earlier and get on the road before 1:00. or take another route. Good thing you do not live near Turner Field....

True - the nozzle factor must always be considered. It is also a nozzle move to hire folks to stop traffic just to get your people to lunch faster.

I am so with you on this. They aren't directing traffic, they are making sure we wait so the church people don't. G** D**mit!! I miss NJ. Nobody ever went to church. Except for my nutty Catholic Parents. :)

It's really not a big thing in the scheme of things, it's just a wee little FU.
