Support bill to abolish Georgia income tax. SB-8

There's no law. Just human nature, proven time after time.

I guess we should throw in the towel and say "**** em" then. How un-american. There are systems that work better than ours, it just requires a change in certification requirement and compensation. If you were a gifted academic would you opt for a $35k highschool job, or a $80k University job? The public schools won't snag them all, but a change is paradigm is needed badly, and cutting $$$ isn't going to do it.

Your first point is specualtive bull**** as well. Can you say that money always corrupts? Who would get the money? Who would be corrupted? That is just a lazy way of deciding to not think about an issue, and brush it off with a trite, overused, inaccurate saying.

Yes I've gotten to that point. I'm of the mindset that I will now vote against any incumbent.

Pretty easy to be corrupted in a position of power with funding. You're right, there's been someone in that position, that didn't use their position in some fashion to better their own interests. :pop2:

Like I said originally, people like to accept the status quo. PEOPLE, THE BILL IS REVENUE NEUTRAL WHICH MEANS THE GOVERNMENT TAKES IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF TAXES. They take the sales from the previous years and calculate what the rate should be. Why would anyone be opposed to controlling how much tax you pay? The only people that care are the moochers (bottom 50% who pay nothing) and the tax evaders. Anytime Libs want to keep control, take control, or raise taxes they throw out the same cliches: fire, police, schools, roads, bridges. The ignorant sheep buy the line every time. Mind you ONE TRILLION DOLLARS was spent on roads and bridges in 2011. That should be enough to tear up all roads and bridges and build new ones. Since the money is spent on unrelated vote-buying programs, they then go back to the wealth envy crowd and ask them for more control and taxes with the same line: roads, bridges, fire, police, schools. If you make $40,000 per year, you pay 7% which is $2800 dollars in Georgia income tax. If we switched to a sales tax you would pay about $300 more per year in sales tax than you do now. So what do you want to pay $2800 or $300? Only a fool would say $2800. Because again, illegals, tourists, and evaders then lesson the burden on us because they cannot escape a sales tax like they can an income tax. The wimps in society say “oh it won’t happen so let’s not even try.” I’m glad Thomas Jefferson didn’t succumb to that same tripe when drafting Constitution and DOI. What it means to have one of the largest economies in the world is better standard of living for everyone, EVEN THE POOR. Those against the Fair Tax haven’t read the legislation. We spend more now on education than ever before and test scores are flat. WE NEED PRIVATIZATION. Everything else in this country is great from privatization so why wouldn’t education work? Works in colleges. Harvard…private. Yale…private. Liberty….private. Hillsdale…private. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx4pN-aiofw
