Suppressor purchase now or wait?

No grantee it passes the house. So if you want one, go buy it. I recommend Sole Oak Supply Sole Oak Supply Great guy to work with

Ive bought from both gables and Freedom neither were good experiences.

Thanks, also im open to buy and hold...

I emailed my customers if they want something in the near future it would be a good idea to buy now, and we can wait a couple weeks or months on the paperwork to see the outcome. Silencer Shop is predicting it will be 18+ months of backorders if it passes. So it's actually a really good time to buy...

I suspect 18 months minimum and atleast a $100 bump in cost across the board. Short supply, high demand, cost goes up and the secondary market will explode.

If there is a specific one you want, better to order it now. If this passes there will be a surge in demand that will quickly consume existing supply and it will be a long time until manufacturers catch up. Prices will go up, at least for a time.

The used suppressor market will finally have a chance though, that is one positive. Yes, right now you can sell a suppressor person to person in state with a paper form 4, but it's a pain in the rear and most people usually just get new ones. Making used suppressors as easy to sell as used firearms will be a huge boon to that market.

Yes, The used / secondary market will be an interesting factor. I don't think it will make a significant impact on demand, but I know I have at least one can on a form 4 I would probably sell, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Also If demand is that high used will probably bring an almost new prices.

i wouldnt expect it to pass buttt at the same time i dont know if i'd be dropping any sizeable money on them right now. IF and its a BIG IF it does pass then suppressor prices with tank, if they are truly removed and there is no registration then you're gonna start to see every bubba with a basic shop starting to churn them out on etsy for next to nothing.

If you own one suppressor you know something the new owners will figure out quickly. You get what you pay for, especially with suppressors. There is reason thunder beast cans are over 1k and yhm cans are not. There are some things you don't want the lowest bidder building.

So if this bill passes and they're removed from NFA, will suppressors be treated like any ODT member selling a gun to another? No paperwork or anything else?

Even if removed from the NFA, they will still be "firearms" under the GCA. All laws related to the buying and selling of firearms would still apply to suppressors.

you're right but you will also have thousands of very skilled guys with real equipment that will be able to turn these out for much much much cheaper. Prices are gonna tank. suppressors are cheap in european countries where they are legal to the point that they are viewed as a disposable object.

At the end of the day its just a threaded tube with baffles. It does take precision to get it good but its still pretty close to metal lathe working 101.
