SVT-40 what’s it worth?

$2500. Sell it. Metal looks a little beat. Stock looks good. They are cool but replacement parts are almost impossible to find. Take the money

Any boxed SA on the receiver or the magazine? To me, it looks like it will clean up with minimal effort. I think it lived in a corner of a closet for 60 years.

I was given this gun a few years ago from my grandad.
I don’t much about it. My Russian neighbors said it’s worth some money? Offered me 2500 for it

I’d like to get more info on it though

Has a safety notch on one side
They are desirable and worth money.
Looks like maybe an Izhevsk…not stamped with Tula star? I see that on the buttstock, but that doesn’t mean anything. Does it have a sniper slot in the receiver?
Doesn’t look like the bolt carrier has been re-arsenaled with the typical purple color or electro-pencil serial number.
I’d suggest cleaning it up and putting out better pics. Show us the entire receiver out to the muzzle break.
Good luck.

Depends on condition, what comes with it and where it's sold. Some folks out west pay more for sure.
If you're willing to ship it, auction it on gunbroker, lots or c&r ffl guys on there waiting for one to pop up.
Akfiles is a good nation wide site. you have to set a price, no auctions allowed there but you can set price at $3500 or Best offer and get offers via private message.

$2k low end if its well used, $3500+ high end and I've seen a bit higher if they came with all accessories and some regalia

If they offered $2500 for a rifle without a magazine, I'd take it.
If the neighbors are Russian, maybe they want it to remember their late Uncle Boris who died in the Great Patriotic War.
As for the notch by the trigger, that means it's an original stock. The rifles used to be selective fire. Flip the safety one way, fire a single shot at a time. Flip it the other way and you have a machine gun.
They stopped using the automatic mode because it would break the gun.
