We will retire on 6/30/2026 and want to move to lake Eufaula. Now we will look mainly on the Alabama side. Cheaper property taxes too.

I've looked at nearby states that lack major metropolitan areas, which, as we see, can control a state....Mississippi, with the exception of Jackson....appears to have the least...

Well with the politics of GA becoming what they have become and not looking to go back anytime soon, I believe Alabama will be my very near future home.

But you will have to come over here to shop,they all do you know.

I'm live on Lake Water F. George(Lake Eufaula), on the Alabama side of course. We do have great fishing, hunting, and outdoor activities. And Fatfish66 is correct also, we do some shopping over there and some here also cross the creek to play the lottery as well.
