This is a friend of mine that had never shot a gun in her life. After years of gently inviting her to learn to shoot, she finally took me up on the offer. She had an absolute blast and learned quickly. She fired several different pistols and rifles that day and now describes herself as "addicted".

She has a very large Facebook presence and I don't think any of her friends there are shooters. After getting her permission I posted this picture on my FB page complimenting her on how well she did. She, of course, Liked and Shared my post and her friends have piled on to speak in amazement about how proud they are of her and she has become somewhat of a hero to them. Most importantly, many of them are now interested in learning how to shoot.

The best public relations we shooters can do is bringing more people into the shooting world. Do it with care, kindness and patience and the results is very rewarding.

Great post! I'm sure she will start a positive trend. Kudos for you patience!
It's easy. I love shooting, but I love introducing new shooters even more. Seeing them go from fear of the weapon and trepidation to confidently and competently performing live fire drills in a matter of hours is a great experience.

Yup, I love it! I took a liberal wife's friend, indoctrinated her husband on Glocks, and now they have a G17 and a AR in their house.

Yep. Sometimes it's nothing more than a fun day they will remember, but often they really get involved as a lifelong shooter. This is how I made my best friend (a member here) and he has gotten so into it, I now go to him for advice on certain aspect of firearms. He has owned and learned to work on a larger variety of handguns in the last few years than I have in the last 30 years. LOL!

That's awesome and definitely a positive for our community. What range did you go to?
South River Gun Club. It's a great place and I've been a member there for around 12 or 13 years. It's a very friendly new shooter environment while not allowing foolishness.

BTW, she's a good looking 30 something girly girl (in the best way) and she's single. Good catch here for anyone that can win her.

Yes, I'm match making. LOL!

Stuff like this is worth more than any vote when it comes to protecting the 2A. If we don't keep growing the community we'll eventually lose big.
