Hello ODT community,
I am hosting Talon Defense at a private range in the Athens, Georgia area for their "Gunfighter" class that teaches Vehicle Defense / Counter-Ambush strategies. The course will be held on October 10th-12th. This is a mixed rifle / pistol course that focuses on shooting from, into, and around a vehicle. Real vehicles with intact auto glass will be utilized for this course. This is an extremely fast paced 3 day/24 hour training session that gets the student out of their comfort zone. This is NOT a basic course and the student should have a solid working knowledge of safety and weapon handling skills. The majority of the course takes place in and around vehicles.
The course requires moderate physical activity and students should be in good physical condition.
This course mimics real-world engagements. The scenarios require the student to think through the pre-engagement, engagement and post-engagement process. Each scenario requires the student to safely & accurately employ his/her weapons while moving, using cover, manipulating weapons & support equipment and engaging multiple threats.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
*Primary & secondary weapon transitions & manipulations
*Single hand only shooting & manipulations
*Proper use of cover
*Engaging moving threats & shooting on the move
*Weapons employment in confined spaces
*Shooting from the ground & unorthodox positions
*Positions of advantage vs. positions of necessity.
*Vehicle ballistics demonstration
*Shooting into & out of vehicles
