3 day Vehicle Defense / counter ambush course. “GUNFIGHTER”

This is an extremely fast paced 3 day/24 hour training session that gets the student out of their comfort zone. This is NOT a basic course and the student should have a solid working knowledge of safety and weapon handling skills.

The course requires moderate physical activity and students should be in good physical condition. The majority of the course takes place in and around vehicles.

This course mimics real-world engagements. The scenarios require the student to think through the pre-engagement, engagement and post-engagement process. Each scenario requires the student to safely & accurately employ his/her weapons while moving, using cover, manipulating weapons & support equipment and engaging multiple threats.

Topics covered include, but is not limited to;

*Primary & secondary weapon transitions & manipulations
*Single hand only shooting & manipulations
*Proper use of cover
*Engaging moving threats & shooting on the move
*Weapons employment in confined spaces
*Shooting from the ground & unorthodox positions
*Positions of advantage vs. positions of necessity.
*Vehicle ballistics demonstration
*Shooting into & out of vehicles

*Rules of safe tactics
*Flat range work
*Carbine accuracy
*RDS down
*Sling management
*Transition to secondary weapon
*Threat engagement options
*Multiple target engagements
*Shooting on the move
*Engaging moving targets
*Single hand shooting & manipulations

Training day 2
*Vehicle ballistics demonstration
*Engagements into vehicles
*Engagements out of vehicles
*Shooting around/over/under cover
*Single hand high value shot techniques (100 yard & 200 yard engagements)
*Shooting from the ground and unorthodox positions
*Barricade & positional shooting
*Positions of advantage vs. positions of necessity
*Begin short scenarios

Training day 3
*Continue scenario training
*Scenarios become longer and more complicated
*Timed drills
*swag presentation
*Course AAR

Necessary equipment
*Carbine or primary weapon w/ quality sling
*800 rounds primary weapon
*Minimum 4 magazines for primary weapon
*400 rounds secondary weapon
*Handgun or secondary weapon
*Minimum 3 magazines for secondary weapon
*Duty belt w/ sturdy, high quality holster and magazine pouches
*Chest rig, belt rig or body armor w/ pouches for primary weapon magazines
*Knee & elbow pads
*Wrap around eye protection
*Hearing protection (Amplified hearing protection *HIGHLY* recommended)
*Face protection and long sleeves also recommended
