I got an after market set of grips for my Taurus pt92. But I can't get the top left screw out of the factory grip panel, because it has a bushing in it, to hold a spring in place. I'm notorious for buggering up stuff like this. Should I take it to a pro, or am I just missing an easy fix?

You may want to use a thread loosening agent like liquid wrench and let soak a while then using a well-fitting screw driver. I will tap on the screw driver while in the slot with a small hammer just enough to loosen the screw ever so slightly.

Another trick I learned is with the weapon secure (vice) seat the screw driver tip in the screw slot and take a pair of channel lock pliers and grip the screw driver handle at 90 degrees, then while holding the whole thing tightly attempt to loosen the offending screw. It can go wrong with a quickness if you slip, so tape off the areas prior just in case.
