Thanksgiving Dinner 2025

Family is doing Publix again this year. There will be about 30 of us and Mom doesn't cook anymore. Most of us are meeting up day before, so cooking is not really an option other than deserts. Paper plates, plastic silverware, plastic glasses, and an extra large trash bag to handle clean up. It's more about getting family together than cooking for 2 days.

That is the important part. My Dad always made sure we went to see family. That's all just about gone now. And has been for some years

Our family was massive growing up, everyone had 7 kids it seemed, tons of cousins, aunts and uncles etc. Many have died off, but there is still an ass ton of family young and old around today. We make it an effort to always get together for the holidays no matter what. Everyone has their own personal struggles at times, but we all get along so we look forward to it every year. Just like the old days when I was a kid. All this talk is making me hungry thinking about it!!!

We don't let yahoos fish it cause they can't remember to pick up their trash. I usually spend good bit of spring time busting bream-a-cudas with the tenkara. Used to swim in it when I was a kid.

Baking a turkey. Will prepare my brine and brine the fresh bird in the cooler for 72 hours minimum.

It's the one time of year I make it. A 72 hour brine works magic on turkey.

Color me commie then…ain’t eatn no f’n bland ass dry bird don’t care how you baste or inject its ass.
Just me and the wife and a medium rare 4bone will last for a couple good meals. Daughters have their own thanksgiving. We do a family reunion every year for the entire kin get together and the food brought in by everyone is enormous.
