I have made something similar to that. You're correct, it's a casserole and not a dressing. The dressings I've tried have an awful consistency and you can't taste the oysters. Now you got me thinking about this. Certainly easy enough to make in smaller batches.I misspoke..
It's an oyster casserole, a stand-alone baked dish.
