The day was going good until about 45 minutes ago........

Sorry I remember when this happen to me the kids got about a dozen cars in the neighborhood. Although I must've scared them when I got up in the middle of the night without even knowing it. Because, they tool the CDs off the front seat and face plate from the stereo but left the shot fun tucked behind the bench seat along with my gym bag.. hopefully they pick the kids ups that broke into your truck

Sorry to hear you got jacked. Thankfully no one was hurt. Weird thing is, this is the third theft I've caught wind of in the last 24 hours. Saw two on Facebook this morning.

I've lived inside Atlanta city limits for almost 13 years and have been privy to many break in stories. I've learned that a jacket, scarf, hat or gloves left in plain sight during the colder months, are more likely to result in a smash and grab than any other item. Multiple stories of these clothing items being grabbed and change, stereos, guns and sometimes even cash being left behind. I haven't heard of that kind of thievery in Athens, although locals there do make it clear that it is not a small country city anymore.
Just a heads up to everyone though, leave no cold weather gear in plain sight. Not around here at least.
Best of luck to you, hope your weekend gets better.

A very bad feeling and frustation that you can't do anything except be pissed......unfortunately I have experianced a similar circumstance.

OUCH! That was a costly mistake my man.
The deodorant and Glock are easily replaced but that mountain fleece and wedding mag are hard to swallow....hopefully the magazine wasn't a limited edition!

Seriously though, I've been in your shoes and it just plain sux. That feeling deep down in your gut takes a while to leave. Alcohol will help some but its only temporary.

Depending on you HO deductible, your personal property may warrant filing a claim. Usually only covers firearms up to $1000 limit, but your unless your Glock was OD, you should be good. With what you have listed though, it may not make sense to have a claim on your record.

Glock $525
Mags $60
Fleece $45
Misc $30
Total $660
ded $500-
payout$160

That sucks.

Take solace in the knowledge that this will catch up to these a-holes sooner or later. No one runs around pulling this crap for a career. Sooner or later they will get bold, make a mistake, and wind up paying for it.
