I had an employee try to get his girlfriend's attention during a break-up by shooting himself in the shoulder with a 22lr pistol. I assume it was to "fake" a suicide attempt. Once the bullet entered his body it bounced around like a ping-pong ball. Sad to say, he didn't make it.

Most people I know are WAY more accurate with a .22 for obvious reasons. That has to count for something, even in a self-defense situation.
