The "Deadly" 22lr

Works for the IDF.

The plinker went to war: The IDF's Ruger 10/22

My problem with the OP isn't the .22lr part, it's the SR22 part.

If for whatever reason, I could only carry .22lr for self defense, it would be in a REVOLVER. I know the SR22 gets rave reviews, but it's still a semi-auto .22lr and because of that, I would NEVER trust my life that it would function reliably.

from what i read about the IDF using the suppressed 10/22 is they used it for bothersome dogs and riot control, they would pop em in the knees when they got too rowdy. but they had to cut down on the use as they were actually causing some to die of there wounds
guess someone got to that before me!

On dogs. That gun is called the hush puppy for a reason. They use it to silence barking dogs that might give away an operation.

They originally intended it as a former of NONLEATHAL crowd control as well but people kept bleeding out and dying in the hospital so the quit using it on people.

Straight from the article: commando units used them to take out sentries and dogs before entering an area to maintain the element of surprise. If you read the article they stopped using it for a while because it had to be re-classified to lethal force. Either way, it was killing humans.
