The Laugo Alien has some competition

I like this and the Alien, but there's no reason they should cost as much as they do.

I certainly wouldn't pay what they are asking..though I hope someone comes out with a (much) cheaper competitor. :-)

But- I do see the reason for the price-

If you have a newly designed mass market gun (or any product ) you are hoping to reach sufficient sales volume where the r and d, tooling, engineering, facilities, and other investments are paid for- by quickly selling a lot of guns at what we consider to be reasonable prices.

^ These people know they have a niche gun unlikely to capture many sales (relative to Glock, CZ, Tangfolio, ETC) and they have higher upfront costs due to being so far outside the box

There's a good chance they will fail financially if they try to sell this at $1500- so they (and others) price it as a niche/luxury item

They will probably never have high sales volume so they aim for a higher margin per unit

If the CEO wasn't lying, only 300 made a year and all hand fit. I'd compare it to PT, Atlas, Nighthawk, etc. Both in price and performance. Price, not bad. Performance? Yet to be determined.

Basically means 1 is produced per day (assuming the other 65 days of the year are holiday, troubleshooting/extra labor, or a few days built in). It does seem like a very laborious (people labor) gun to create with the electronics.

You are correct, though; performance is king and I would love to see video of this being shot. Pretty sure the CEO said it's a super flat shooter, too, right?

I mean, once you start talking about those numbers, you start thinking - why not go up to Bob Marvel and spend 10 days making your own 1911. Yes, all in, that's probably $4k, but you're getting education and a genuinely unique firearm.

I agree with you. If I spend that much money on a gun, I want to have some serious say and face-to-face time with the team crafting it.
