I agree. I am losing interest rapidly. I don’t care about the players anymore. I imagine by the time my son graduates from UGA in 2027 I won’t even be tuning in anymore. Didn’t even care this year when a game got sideways. Oh well. I hope to be back in the woods somehow someway next year and will have other things to enjoy next fall.

Signed up for a 4 million dollar contract. A lot of people will say that it’s not right, but consider that he will make more than a lot of current NFL Players. He wasn’t projected to go in the first three rounds of the draft, so an NFL salary would have been around a third of what he’s making by staying in college.

If he gets hurt again, no team will draft him, so he needs to get all he can while he can. As a Cane, I will not be rooting for him anymore but I ain’t mad at him either. If we had the option to swap jobs every year and have companies back up the Brinks truck for us, I don’t think we would be so critical of these guys.

The never ending chase for TV money is what I think ruined it. Allowing ESPN to dictate start times based on their programming schedule instead of considering the fan experience. Noon kickoffs in Georgia early Sepember are horrible. All fueled by money in the facility/NIL arms race. The funny thing is, the TV shenanigans were all started by Dooley in the 80’s when he sued the NCAA to allow UGA/SEC to negotiate their own TV contract.

Now uncontrollable NIL, guaranteed coach salaries, the BS conference realignment (all in the name of expanding TV markets), 6 and 7 year eligible players since JUCO no longer counts (that was a shock ruling) are going to completely **** it all up.

It’s not just he kids. The ****ty ways coaches lie and leave under cover of darkness is shameful as well. The whole system has a stench on it that makes it less enjoyable to watch each year.

This 100%. It would be refreshing to see one of these youngsters be responsible with the money.

Agreed, but the that could be said for the adults too, who carry more debt than the US Government annually. If they had any kind of responsible upbringing they might be able to handle the riches. If not, they will perpetuate what they know.
