The ad itself isn't dumb, but the fact that he relied on this gun, loaded and sitting on his nightstand, for TWO YEARS without EVER test-firing it, IS dumb.
I have, a few times in my life, carried or kept handy for defense a gun that I have not personally shot yet, but only for a week or so before my shipment of more ammo came in and I made that trip to the range. One was a brand new S&W revolver, which dry-fired just fine.
One was a used model 1911, which manually cycled live ammo just fine, so I carried it with FMJ rounds for 2 weeks in the winter before getting to the range with it.

I see quite a few guns advertised that the seller says they never fired, but carried for a period of time.
I just don't get it. Break-in and function testing aside, I need to know that POI is close to POA before I'm comfy carrying a new purchase.
Their mileage may vary, and good luck to them.

Funny story, related but totally off topic for the thread. I bought one of the first PT111s back in '05-'06. Shot it a fair amount, then due to a variety of circumstances ended up not having time to shoot. One of those circumstances involved having to work two jobs just to keep the lights on and the house out of foreclosure. The night job was usually solo, in a bad area of town. I made sure I had my Taurus with me at all times! I never had to shoot it, but I certainly had to show it on a number of occasions. Fast forward about 8 months and I finally have the time and money to go shooting. I get everything set on the range, aim my little PT111, and pull the trigger...and nothing happens. Safety off, loaded, everything's ready to go, but the trigger just kinda mushes down about halfway and that's it. Turns out a roll pin has worked its way out of the plastic frame and is keeping the sear from going all the way back. I've been carrying a f-ing paperweight. My LIFE has been depending on a f-ing paperweight. And for who knows how long? Maybe the whole eight months? I dunno. Not a great feeling, gentlemen. Now I regularly shoot whatever I carry even if it's just a quick mag dump.

Also I looked up the $200 hi point, hahahahahha

Needing a concealed carry permit to buy a black powder firearm when they don't even fall under our gun laws. Also, I could literally have one shipped to my door for around the same price, if not cheaper. It'd probably be less of a hassle, too.

Actually they do in Georgia. Felons are prohibited from owning black powder guns here
