The writers strike is ov...

I guess I don't operate in such a binary world view as do some. I still shop at Target. If I had to buy Bud Light, I would. I remember when the Southern Baptist Convention officially moved to boycott Disney back in the 90's. The Sunday after the announcement, my pastor wore a Mickey Mouse tie in the pulpit. I'm not naive enough not to realize that both sides hate me and only want my vote for their own largesse. To sneer and revel in people's economic ruin is puerile. Reminds me of Thomas Hardy's The Man He Killed.

Whatever. Y'all have fun. I've got some writing to do. :ranger:

I think he said I'm a bad person because of my job.

Fair enough. You call it "binary" like it's a bad thing (I guess). Ironic term given the gender "debate". :)
Maybe "the same yesterday, today and forever" is outmoded? I have no qualms in admitting I try and not have situational ethics, "luke warm" beliefs, or pliable standards. I guess that's "binary". And I FULLY acknowledge others have completely different (even polar opposite) and perhaps equally inflexible beliefs. I respect everyone's right to be wrong. Even my own.

I think he said I'm a bad person because of my job.
I don't know you. I have no idea if you're a "bad person". And that's pretty subjective anyway. Working for a union however and then being upset by a strike I may not consider the smartest thing in the world. But then again obviously millions would disagree.

They didn't get paid while out because of the writer strike. They were out doing other odd jobs to make money while out of work.
Not the point…
Should have had enough in their personal strike fund so they could ride it out without taking some menial crap job.
Then when you go back to work, you get well on the OT offered to catch up the backed up jobs.
If you’re working a job subject to stoppages for any reason, you’ve got to plan for that eventuality.

Once again, our contract is up for negotiation next year, that's what our strike fund is for. It won't take 146 days to settle it either.

Umm you specifically said "good well meaning people" and then proceeded to explain why I was the opposite.

I did no such thing. I simply explained what some, or at least I, find confounding. Again I don't know you.
I guess I could have been curt and just said "if the shoe fits" but that would be "intellectually dishonest".

So I guess the quotation marks around that phrase wasn't sarcasm. I "apologize"...
