There might be hope for us yet.

Just need a van, registration, insurance and license, no gun required. But who finally stopped him..... A good man with a gun.

It's good to see that some folks would risk death to save a fellow human being rather than live as a coward for the rest of their unworthy lives.

I'll bet the rookie cop was wondering "where's a cop when you need one"?

I really don't think that driving into the middle of a gun fight would be the smartest move, heroic maybe, but smart, maybe not.

Just a few things that caught my eye from the article

"a man fired at him with a high-powered assault rifle." what was it?
"shielding the rookie officer" if this was indeed a high-powered assault rifle how would this provide cover? maybe only concealment , don't get me wrong I am not taking anything a way from the van driver he put himself in harms well to help someone else and that should be commended.

"The best way to stop a bad man with a gun is a good man with a van."
Yet the real thing that stopped him was an off duty police officer with at gun ="When Armand refused, the officer fired, striking him several times. Armand was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital."
