Thermal Cover for Suppressor

experimenting with silicon kitchen hot mats , pipe wrap and heat tape.
turned into a fun science mind project to learn about heat transfer and dissipation.
keep in mind the heat (energy) must transfer somewhere.
remember your high school physics class where , unless you were a stoner, you learned that energy can neither be created nor destroyed but only transferred.

The heat normally transfers through my hands and destroys my fingerprints because I’m too poor to buy another can for my shorty and too impatient to let it cool when at the range…

I was going to order some multicam fabric for the outer layer a few days ago, and was thinking cotton would be best because it would be less likely to melt, but all of the decent camo seems to be Nylon. Any experience either way?

Nylon melts quickly, buy if you wrap it twice in the heat blanket and don't mag dump, it'll be fine. On top of a traditional cover I have no idea.

damn covers are expensive. But then again burning a hole in your rifle bag when your buddy lays your rifle down on it while the can is still hot doesn't help matters either.

I need to find a wrap for a NoMax (no heavy fire schedule with this one, more for heat mirage and not melting my other ****) and a Lazarus 6 (rifle case offender).

Other cans have Rifles Only HAD cover (2), a ColeTac cover, and of all things one of the MechanicsWear covers that has held up surprisingly well (I should have bought a couple when they were like $30).

I did pick up the amazon hair curler/silicon bag thing and that's been good for transport or storage after the range trip.

^^ex-buddy?
technically it was my nephew and pretty sure he had no idea how hot the cans get, it was his first time shooting suppressed at the range. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Plus now I have a reason to get the Laz6 really hot to burn off all the melted nylon on the can.

I like my 2x Cole-tac covers for protecting my cans while shooting or carrying rifles

But when I remove a can I use this Mechanix (the glove company) suppressor cover bag thing it was $13 on Amazon. They also make a pot holder.
