I must be the only person in America that isn't enamored with MagPul AR15 mags... I am quite disappointed, actually. My Pmag 20 rounders all run fine. No jams. They all hold open on the last round. Sure, they're tough and they look cool, but they're range mags at best... None (of the 3 I have) drop free, and that makes them unusable for protection in my preparation. I have close to 100 various AR mags. Pmags and a couple Sanchez USGI mags are the only ones that I have this problem with...The several Thermold magazines I have all run problem free, hold open, and drop free. I have about 600 rounds through one. No issues. I decided to torture it a bit. At $6.00 for a replacement, I figured, why not. I ran it over with my 4,000 pound Dodge Ram Charger. No cracks. Still worked. Slammed it into the concrete as hard as I could (2-time Florida state champion pitcher - she was moving at the point of impact). Wouldn't break up. Still runs. Covered it in sand. Still refused to misfeed. My cheap (1995 production, LE only marked) Thermolds are, in my experience, superior to the much pricer Pmags. Ain't that somethin'?
PS : After the aforementioned torture tests, including a complete submersion in mud, the abused magazine still runs perfectly. Not pretty, but it works!
