happens more an more everyday.
my granny Christine(nickname Cricket, cause she never sat still) got to where she read the local obits and made trips to Cannon-Cleveland and Horace-Ward Funeral homes several times a week to go see people. After she had stopped being able to drive she asked me to take her to Grayson, Ga (long haul from Stockbridge) to see some kin that had passed away. After 2 minutes inside she said "we can go now, its not who I thought it was, and I don't know anyone here" 😂 😳 😂

My dad went through a spell with his wretched ex-wife (while they were married) where they were constantly off going to funerals. I inquired several times of the ex how she knew the people and would get cray-cray answers like, "She lived upstairs when I was a little girl in the mill village. I haven't seen her since I was 5 or 6 (then 67 years of age). Or, "He was my third cousin on my divorced great-great grandfathers side of the family."

Totally bizare and macabre if you ask me. I don't much care to attend any funeral but do so out of respect for loved ones or direct relatives.....not just so I have something to do. She was a real kukoo bird.

Anything past my first cousins, they're on their own......Heck on my Mother's side of the family, I might learn after the fact. Sometime down the road. When my Father in Law passed, we didn't do a funeral. I actually liked it that way. It was my In Law's choice. I had to go through my Mother's death as a child and I just don't relish the idea of dealing with other people during that time
