Things you buy ,For others to borrow

He passed in 1985 but Im pretty sure we both know the answer.

I used to have a few relatives who borrowed tools but most never returned them. I finally started buying a few cheap tools (hammer, pliers, screwdrivers etc) and giving them to whoever was asking. If they came back later on to "borrow" tools I would remind them that I already bought them some tools. Most finally took the hint and the rest I chewed out and they got the message.

One relative has a tractor and a chain saw and he said "I'd never loan out my tractor, my chainsaw or my WIFE." I think that was the order of importance too.
