Thinking of getting a Keltec PF9

I had one for a while, nice size and easy to carry - recoil is a bit sharp but what I really didn't like was the long trigger reset and the trigger in general. Maybe that's why you see them so cheap.

Either one of your other choices is MUCH better in my humble opinion.

I had a PF9 for awhile... Nice and light. Got rid of it because of the trigger- long heavy pull and like someone else said, not really "fun" to shoot.

Since the door is wide open, I'll throw myself on the glock grenade... the PF9 is skinner than my G26, but laying one on top of the other, they are almost the same shape/size. I'm sticking with the G26.

Like a fool ... I sold my G26 .. First gun I ever bought myself .. Sold it for a deal I couldn't refuse .. Now I'm saving up for a G19 gen 4 .. Maybe a Christmas item this year

What I am looking for is a slim 9mm because I have to dress in khakis and a tie every day so I need something slim that doesn't print at all .. The keltec was very slim I thought

I felt mine was a little big for a pocket pistol. I'm thinking about a DB9, but have yet to lay hands on one.

Its a 50/50 chance that you will get that works and is accurate. My co-worker got one and it will shoot a 6" group at 20 yds which is pretty good for a compact. I bought one and its shoots about 3 1/2 ft to the left at 15 yds with the sights adjusted all the way to the right. I checked the barrel crown and it was not square. I squared the muzzle and recrowned it now It will shoot a 6" groups at 20 yds.Oh It is reliable put about 200 rds with no issues. I will keep it because of the size.

The PF9 is a great gun if that is your budget max. It's a good value. If you can spend nearly twice the price go with a Glock or M&P.(or my LCR357) Twice the price you have a shield, Kahr, ect or an XDS.

If you need it for the pocket of dress pants I would consider a miserable to shoot and even worse than miserable for accuracy, a P3AT. The odds of you needing a gun for self defense, combined with a 9mm making a significant outcome difference vs a 380 is about the same as winning the lottery. Twice.

I picked one up a while back for the wife. I carry it when the temperatures get extreme. Never had an issue. Good light weight carry. Thought of grabbing a few more for color options.

Great for neighborhood watch, bad for range

There's a serious problem with that mentality..if you carry a pf9, that needs to be your primary range gun and the one that sees the most ammo through it. If you never shoot it, how are you going to be proficient with it?

Been looking at that one, the LC9, and the S&W Shield ..... Lots of youtube watching, lol

I have an LC9 and Shield. The Shield has a better trigger and feels better in my hand. I know I will get a lot of grief but I put my G26 in the safe and only carry the shield in summer months and G19 in the winter. I also have a Bodyguard 380 that is the ultimate CC. Great small gun.

Go rent all of them and see what you like. Everyone is different. That is what I did when I looked at Glocks and Xd's. I picked Glock of course because I shot better with it.

I've owned 3 of them (freakin tradin bug) and have yet to have issues. Its the lightest, slimmest 9mm but with that comes the aggravating recoil. Not really a problem to me but I did find after extended range trips that the rear of the grip was chewing my hand up ( Grip-All or a bicycle innertube fixed that.) I've also heard that most of the FTE/FTF'S come from limp wristing the pistol.
If the $250-$300 range is your budget try giving a Taurus 605 a shot (or 5). Tuff lil. 357's with the option of shooting 38 spl and they also carry a lifetime warranty.
