Thinking of going back to school

Not sure where you're looking to go, but I have plenty of people that are 30-50 years old in my classes at KSU. Obviously not half and half, but there's a strong presence of people that are pursuing their degrees that are 30+.

I love KSU. Have a bunch of friends that used to go there in recently years and they would get me into the Commons.... WOAF! I miss the Commons.

My wife went back in her early 30's. You can do it. I need to get off my lazy ass and get my Master's. Just can't seem to get motivated.

im an accounting major at ksu. im three classes away from graduating after july.

i have a few adult learners in my classes. im going to say three or four in every class of 30-40 students.

if you want to do it and its your dream then go do it. just be aware it is very strenuous as far as degrees go. ive studied my ass off for tests and come out with low 60s on them. most professors will curve because the classes (upper accounting anyways) are rigorous. you will learn a lot.

as far as money goes, CPAs make great money. if you work at a CPA firm you will start off with a great salary for someone who just came out of school. the earnings are endless if you stick with it and make it to partner at any firm (big or small). big 4 firms partners will bring in a million a year once they make it. big 4 firms also will have you working your ass off 70-80 hour weeks and burn most people out within two years. extremely high turnover.

overall, do it if its your dream. i do not recommend getting a law degree. the market for lawyers (new hires) is extremely saturated unless you know someone/have strong connections.

PM me for anymore advice.

edit: if you are concerned about the time to complete the degree that should be your main focus. you are looking at 4 years for the undergrad then one for your MAcc (masters accountancy). KSU's MAcc is right around 25 grand.
