I feel for you. We pay a hefty price to bring them into our lives. My sister is going through this. Her chocolate lab is 14 1/2. He's lived a great long life. It's going to be particularly hard on her because this lab was a gift from our parents when they were still alive. A little piece of them will go when he goes.strong likelihood that we're gonna have to put down our 11 yr old yellow Lab within a few days. Breaks my heart. I'll cry like a baby again. He's got a tumor on his back that has been removed twice and has come back both times and it has now broken through the skin where previous staples were. He's on pain meds and the thing that is making this SO hard is because he's still as happy as a 6 month old pup and wants to chase balls and drag sticks through the yard. We're still considering surgery AGAIN, but in two months we'll be right back where we are today. We're not considering radiation after surgery because it'd end up costing about $14,000......I love having Colby and he's been a great dog, but it's this situation that is just genuinely horrible to have to go through. This is my dog shout out, but it's a sad shout out. I'll try to post a pic later.
