This may save your life

I have had lyme disease which is pretty bad but that right there sounds like a special kind of nasty. Sorry for your loss (meat).

Allergies are some weird ****. I know a guy who is now allergic to shellfish from having a heart cath done. Still don't understand that one.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I am still mourning the loss of bacon, as well as the Flos filet at Longhorn. LOL!

This allergy is a fairly new discovery, so it's not known if certain people are more prone to develop it than others. As a kid, I was ALWAYS in the woods so I have been getting tick bites all my life, but never had any problems until I was in my 30's.

Then, after I started getting outbreaks, they would only happen every 5 or 6 months, even though I was eating meat pretty much every day. This, along with the fact that the attack occurs 4 to 6 hours after you eat meat, made it impossible for me to figure out what was going on.

Oh, and there are different levels of severity to this allergy. Some people can't have mammal meat or ANY dairy products. I guess I'm lucky in the fact that dairy hasn't caused me any problems.

And to the guy asking about protein intake...

I can still eat any animal that was hatched from an egg, so fish and chicken are still on the menu as long as they are not fried in an animal-based cooking oil. I have also found out that lasagna and spaghetti made with ground turkey are actually pretty dang good. I'll go ahead and tell you right now though, turkey burgers and turkey bacon are terrible.

Thanks for the PSA bro I had never heard of such a thing. I can't imagine having to give that up I don't know what I'd do. On the bright side though you'll probably end up much healthier in the long run. Good luck!
