When I was about 18 I suddenly became allergic to shellfish. It was mild at first, a tickle in the throat and itchy eyes. Now I can't even come into contact with it at all and consumption would be life threatening. I wonder if one of the million ticks I've picked off my taint over the years could have caused this?? If I got bit by the meat allergy tick, I'm pretty sure I would die from eating a bacon wrapped filet at some point.
