Ticket for 171mph

When I was a punk arse kid (16 ) I thought I'd see how fast my roadrunner would go, 69 with a 383 and a 4spd. Deserted piece of highway in rural Maine, 2 AM, feeling safe because we had no police dept in our town. The sheriff in Oxford was 45 minutes away. What could go wrong ? Hahaha the 2 State Troopers sitting at the Fairground entrance , for some reason they were in town that night. The trooper later told my dad he clocked me at 137 .. windshield wipers were standing straight up, so I musta been moving.. lost my license for 120 days.. 90 from the state, another 30 from my dad..

I would have lost more than 30 days from my Dad. More like 30 lbs of ass!

Back in 1986 I was racing another bike. I was on my track bike, an 86 1100 GSXR that was not street legal. Passed a NC state trooper at 168 mph. Thought I was good to go until I got 8 miles up the highway. There were 6 troopers waiting on me. They had just caught a Mustang GT and I ran right up on them. Needless to say, I went downtown. Got a very good lawyer. Kept my license and only got exceeding a safe speed ticket.

Man this guy was rolling on out in his Camaro in Duluth Minnesota. Sounds like they let him go without a trip to the klink and a tow.
Camaro clocked at 171 mph on Minnesota highway

Officer: "Sir, it's been a long day and my shift is over in 5 mins. If you can give me
some reasonable explanation of why you are driving at 171mph I'd rather let you off
with a warning than spend next 30 mins writing up the charges."
Driver: "Well officer it's like this. Few years ago my wife ran off with a state trooper.
When I saw you pull out then turn on your lights I first thought you were him, bringing
her back so I floored it."
Officer: "Thank you, here's your license, have a nice day".
